Perimeter security — Perimeter intrusion detection (PIDS)
Perimeter systems guard the fence line of data centers, logistics hubs and energy sites. FacilityOS brings their zones onto one site map next to the cameras and the rest of the facility, and keeps arming and disarming under the same approval rules as any other change.
Perimeter points are read-only by default. Arming and disarming is offered only for systems with an official interface and only on zones a manager has enabled.
Overview and site map
- Overview of armed zones, alarms, faults and offline devices.
- Zone list and details: detection technology, linked cameras, alarm and fault history.
- Site map with zones, fiber alarm positions, radar targets and cameras; an alarm pops up the video from the linked cameras.
Events and settings
- Perimeter events go through the normal alarm acknowledgement flow.
- Device health for controllers and sensors.
- Zone settings — name, alarm priority and linked cameras — for engineers and above, fully audited.
Connecting the system
- Gateway drivers: ONVIF event subscription, MQTT perimeter JSON and Elk M1.
- Also through I/O-module dry contacts, BACnet (for example from Genetec), SNMP traps and webhooks.
- When the event connection is really lost, zones are marked untrustworthy instead of being shown as quiet.
Arming and disarming under control
- Controlled arming and disarming on systems with an official interface (currently Elk M1 — implemented, not yet validated on site), on zones a manager has enabled.
- Two-person confirmation (another operator confirms within 5 minutes) plus an e-signature, the 8-step change flow and read-back; a mismatch raises an urgent alarm.
Try it
- The demo data center, logistics center and new energy sites have simulated perimeters with periodic intrusion, nuisance-alarm and fiber-cut events.
