Deployment and implementation
A FacilityOS project follows a fixed sequence of stages, each with its own documents and sign-offs, so the site always knows where it stands.
Project stages
Site survey
Equipment and communication survey: what is installed, how it communicates and what the network looks like. Customer documents: site onboarding readiness checklist and the equipment and communication survey workbook.
Solution
The survey is mapped to device types and connection methods; the solution center suggests the hardware to buy, with the reason on every line, and produces the proposal.
Procurement
Requests for quotation by supplier, quotes recorded, margin and labor added, and a customer quotation exported.
Installation
The gateway is installed on a Linux industrial PC with a one-line command containing a one-time registration code (valid 30 minutes, single use) and the platform's certificate fingerprint. Only outbound access to the platform is needed.
Commissioning
Devices are discovered by a network scan or imported, point lists are confirmed, alarms are tuned and the commissioning sign-off is completed.
Pilot and acceptance
The pilot runs in three stages — read-only, limited control, full control — with the existing BMS and EPMS kept as the primary systems until the evidence report shows the data can be trusted.
Training
Role-based training tasks with sign-off for operators, engineers and managers, including drills that never touch the real system.
A pilot that proves itself
- The data the platform reads matches the existing BMS and EPMS.
- Gateways and the platform run stably.
- Alarms are useful, not a flood (alarm health report against ISA-18.2).
- Every change made by the platform is safe and traceable, with no unresolved "uncertain" results.
- The customer's operators can use the platform on their own, with every role task signed off.
A pilot does not replace the existing BMS, rewire the site or change the equipment's own protection and interlocks.

Where it runs
FacilityOS Core runs on your servers or ours (Debian or Ubuntu with PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB), behind HTTPS. Gateways run at each site on Linux (amd64 or arm64).
