FMCS — Facility management and control
FMCS covers the facility-wide utilities that production depends on: cooling plant, power, pure water, gases, wastewater and exhaust. FacilityOS shows the whole chain on one page and helps the shift team run it.
Facility overview
- The complete cooling and power chains on one page, with N+1 and 2N redundancy groups and the headroom of each group.
- Failure drills: rehearse what happens when a unit trips, without touching real equipment.
- Linkage verification: after a fire, gas, leak or emergency-power event the platform checks that every expected action really happened within its deadline. It only checks; it never controls these systems.
Operations and shift handover
- Shift log: notes, meter readings (the live value of the point is recorded automatically) and events; engineers and managers can write instructions for the next shift.
- Signed handover: the outgoing person writes a summary and signs; the platform records the open alarms, critical alarms, open work orders, forced variables, emergency stops and offline gateways at that moment; the incoming person (always someone else) signs to accept. Both signatures carry a SHA-256 and go into the audit trail.
- Default shifts are day 07:00–19:00 and night 19:00–07:00; managers can change them.
Utility efficiency
- Chiller plant kW/ton, compressed-air specific power (kW/100 cfm), RO recovery for pure water, and PUE.
- Live, 24-hour and 7-day averages with a 7-day trend and rule-of-thumb benchmarks.
Alarms
- Alarm lifecycle according to ISA-18.2: acknowledge, shelve (with a reason and an expiry time), response guidance and flood suppression.
- First-out analysis: related alarms (same device, within 3 hops on the equipment graph, or the same area) raised within 2 minutes are grouped; the first one is marked first-out, the most likely cause, and the rest are marked consequential.
- Notifications by email, Microsoft Teams, Slack, WeCom, SMS, webhook and mobile push, with on-call rosters and escalation.
- Trends: live, 1 hour, 24 hours and 7 days, kept for up to 400 days.
