Fire systems — Fire alarm and suppression monitoring
Fire alarm and suppression systems stay in charge of fire safety. FacilityOS reads their status so the shift team sees fire events next to power, cooling and security — and it has no way to send them a command.
Strictly read-only: the platform has no silence, reset, disable, test, release, abort or fire pump start/stop function. Acknowledging a fire alarm in FacilityOS is recorded in the platform only and is never passed to the fire alarm panel.
What is monitored
- Fire alarm control panels with their zones, detectors and notification circuits.
- Aspirating smoke detection (for example VESDA): smoke-level trends and the alert, action, fire 1 and fire 2 thresholds.
- Sprinkler risers, valves and fire pumps; gaseous, clean-agent and other special suppression systems.
- Alarm priorities: fire is urgent, supervisory is high, trouble is medium.
Data center view
- Protection status room by room for data centers: detection, suppression and release status in each room.
- An event log of fire, supervisory and trouble events, and inspection reminders.
Read-only by design
- BACnet life-safety points and zones are read-only, and every LifeSafetyOperation request is refused.
- The catalog check rejects any change that would make a life-safety point writable.
- After a fire event the platform checks that the expected linkage actions were reported within their deadline and notifies people if not — it only checks, it never acts.
Try it
- The demo data center has a simulated fire system with panels, aspirating smoke detection, sprinklers and room-level suppression.
